Kate took her inspiration from the work of William Ross, the eighteenth-century Gairloch bard, and named it for him in both English and Gaelic.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe construction is the interesting part. It starts with two small knitted epaulettes, worked flat and blocked, from which the shoulder stitches are picked up. Front and back neck stitches are cast on, steeks go in at the top of each armscye, and the upper body is worked downwards from the chart.
