Professional Finishing Workshop - with Liz Agnew & Tilde Olsen 19th Jan


Improve your finishing techniques by joining this popular finishing workshop. 

The workshop will be run by Liz Agnew and Tilde Olsen; both have over 40 years knitting experience.

Liz is a professional test knitter for independent designers and British yarn brands. She has a passion for lace and sock knitting so who better to invite to The Orry Mill for a finishing workshop.

Tilde is the owner of The Orry Mill and has extensive knitting and material knowledge and extreemly fussy with her finishing. She has a Fine Art Degree so passionate about exploring textures, colours and designs. 

This workshop suitable for beginners and advanced knitters alike.

This workshop will cover the following techniques 

  • The importance of gauge and swatching
  • Different methods of blocking
  • Differnt ways of sewing up
  • Grafting (the kitchener stitch)
  • 3 needle cast off
  • Picking up stitches
  • The bennefit of knitting in the round
  • Other useful tips and tricks

Included in the workshop is a 100g ball of West Yorkshire Spinners Colour Lab. Tea, Coffe and Biscuits will also be at hand.

NB: Please come to the shop beforehand to pick up your materials as there is going to be a little homework before the class.
