I have to share this one with you.
This is Metamorphic by Andrea Mowry, knitted by Sharon, one of our lovely Tuesday morning class knitters. She's kindly let us borrow it for a little while so we could show it off properly, and honestly, I can't stop showing it off to everyone who comes into the shop.
A playful, clever knit
It's a top-down, in-the-round striped sweater with a proper twist: you knit it inside out. What would normally be the wrong side becomes the right side, and slipped stitches turn into crisp, solid-coloured lines running through the stripes. The effect has far more movement than a straightforward stripe pattern.
Don't let "clever" put you off. This is not a complicated knit, a few short rows are as tricky as it gets. Sharon is an intermediate knitter and made light work of it, but if you're an adventurous beginner, you'll be able to tackle this one too.

Designed for 0-4"/0-10cm positive ease. The pattern's photographed sample is knit in size 2, worn with 2"/5cm positive ease.
Orry Yarn Merino DK (main colour): 5 (6, 7, 7, 8)(8, 9, 10, 11) balls. We'd recommend Hogback, the closest match to Sharon's and the designer's own solid colour.
Edition 3 (contrast colour): 3 (3, 3, 4, 4)(4, 5, 5, 6) balls
Amounts are approximate, calculated from the designer's stated yardages. A spare ball of each is a sensible buffer.
