PetiteKnit Oslo Hat - Knitting Kit
Designed by PetiteKnit
The Oslo Hat is worked from the bottom up in stocking stitch, starting on a short circular needle and moving to double points or magic loop once the crown decreases begin. The brim is a deep fold, knitted double, so it sits snugly and keeps its shape. It is one of the most knitted hats PetiteKnit have published, and deservedly so.
We have made it up in Orry Yarn Merino DK, our own 100% merino, in sixteen shades drawn from the west coast. The pattern is usually knitted with a 4ply held together with mohair, but it works just as well in a single strand of DK, and in merino you get a cleaner, crisper fabric with none of the halo. If you want the hat to show its stocking stitch rather than blur it, this is the version to knit.
Skill Level: Easy ★★
Stocking stitch in the round throughout. The only things to learn are the folded brim and the crown decreases, and both are covered by PetiteKnit's own technique videos.
