PetiteKnit Sophie Shawl - Knitting Kit

The Sophie Shawl is worked back and forth in one piece, from one tip to the other, in garter stitch with built-in i-cord edges. The shaping comes from increases and decreases along the way, and the i-cord gives you a clean finish with nothing to pick up or sew afterwards.
We have made it up in Sandnes Garn Kos, a chainette spun from 62% baby alpaca, 9% wool and 29% nylon. It is soft enough to sit against your neck, and the chainette keeps it light, so even the large size drapes rather than weighs.
Skill Level: Easy ★★
Garter stitch from beginning to end. The i-cord edges take a row or two to get the rhythm of, and after that it is the sort of thing you can knit while talking.
Sizes: small (medium) large.
Length, tip to tip: approx. 170 (210) 240 cm.
Width at centre: approx. 28 (34) 38 cm.
Gauge: 17 stitches and 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm in garter stitch on 5 mm needles.

Choosing your size
Small knots at the neck, medium wraps once and still hangs, large wraps and drapes properly. Nothing has to fit, so pick by how you like to wear a shawl.

Yarn Usage
Sandnes Garn Kos is 50 g / 150 m per ball. PetiteKnit do not list Kos for this pattern, but Eco Cashmere Vintage, which they do list, is also 150 m to a 50 g ball, so the quantities carry across directly.

Your own usage will vary with your gauge. This is a pattern you can keep knitting for longer if you want it bigger, so allow an extra ball if you plan to. Kos is sold separately on the site should you need a top up, though we cannot guarantee a dye lot match once a kit has shipped.
