What's New at The Orry Mill
The Orry Mill is a curated independent yarn shop based in Eaglesham, Glasgow. We stock yarn and patterns from some of the most respected names in the industry — Rowan, West Yorkshire Spinners, Knitting for Olive, Isager, Noro and Drops — alongside our own design-forward own-brand, Orry Yarn.
Our new-in collection reflects how we shop: deliberately, with an eye for quality fibre, considered colour, and projects worth making. We don't add products for the sake of it. When something arrives here, it's because we genuinely rate it.
What you'll find in new arrivals
New stock typically includes fresh yarn colourways from our core brands, newly released pattern books and individual knitting patterns, seasonal accessories and notions, and additions to the Orry Yarn range — our own 100% merino DK, spun by Laxtons of Bradford to our exact specification in a palette inspired by Scottish landscapes.
Why shop new arrivals at an independent?
Independent yarn shops curate differently from large retailers. We're not buying what sells in volume — we're buying what we'd use ourselves, what our customers ask for, and what fits the aesthetic of the shop. That means the new-in selection here tends to reflect what's genuinely exciting in the knitting world right now, rather than what's commercially convenient.
