We currently stock a curated selection of Sandnes Garn's core ranges, including Peer Gynt (100% Norwegian wool DK), Tynn Peer Gynt (fingering weight Norwegian wool), Tynn Silk Mohair, PetiteKnit Double Sunday (merino DK), and Kos (alpaca-wool blend). Stock is updated seasonally — check back regularly or visit us in store in Eaglesham, Glasgow for the most current selection.

Peer Gynt is a DK weight yarn, spun in a 4-ply construction from 100% Norwegian wool. Sandnes Garn recommend 3.5–4mm needles, with a gauge of approximately 22 stitches per 10cm. It is a non-superwash yarn, so hand washing or a gentle wool cycle is recommended. Tynn Peer Gynt is the same fibre spun finer as a fingering weight 3-ply, suitable for 3–3.5mm needles.

Yes — Tynn Silk Mohair is specifically designed to be held alongside a fingering weight yarn such as Sunday or Tynn Peer Gynt. Knitting the two strands together creates a fabric with soft halo and warmth without significant added bulk. This is a popular technique in Scandinavian knitwear design and is called for in many PetiteKnit and similar designer patterns. Use a 3–3.5mm needle when combining the two.

PetiteKnit Double Sunday is a collaboration colourway range produced by Sandnes Garn in partnership with Danish knitwear designer PetiteKnit. The yarn base is the same — 100% non-superwash merino DK — but the colourways in the PetiteKnit range are developed specifically to complement PetiteKnit's pattern collection. If a PetiteKnit pattern calls for Double Sunday, either version will work at the same gauge.

Sandnes Garn is committed to sourcing fibres from suppliers that meet their animal welfare standards. Their merino-based yarns, including Sunday and Double Sunday, are mulesing-free. The brand publishes its sustainability and ethics commitments on the Sandnes Garn website, covering fibre sourcing, water use, renewable energy and microplastic reduction across their superwash ranges.
