We love a sale and have updated our sale collection with lots of new discounts, but Black Friday is not what we are about.
We are about taking time for you and supporting creativity. The Orry Mill was started to build a successful profitable business, but also to create a sustainable business for our family and provide a space for creativity and mindfulness.
As a small business, Black Friday can be a juggernaut that is a bit overwhelming and we end up buying stuff from now until Christmas and beyond.
We want you to come back to us for the long term and if you become a better knitter and crocheter then that is an amazing thing and benefits us hugely.
As well as being a yarn supplier and teaching classes, we also want to build on crafting as a way of supporting your mental health. This is something that has affected us and no doubt yourself and mental health charities have benefitted us personally, often filling in for the NHS.
So instead of Black Friday and all its spend-spend-spend madness, we DO have a sale because we are a knitting shop and ALWAYS have yarn we can discount and pass on savings, but we also have brand new items that we value and have small quantities of, this makes big flash sales more challenging.
So for this weekend we would like to donate 10% of our takings to two charities:
The Scottish Mental Health charity SAMH and the UK-wide charity Mind.
